This website and all the animated videos within are for my final major project for University. I have continued researching abalone and how their numbers have declined around the world from different human behaviours.

Instead of creating an artwork that tries to tell people what to do or lectures people on their behaviour, I wanted to again make something interactive that resembled a choose your own adventure game. By allowing viewers to take on the responsibility for a species of abalone I hope that people understand their impact on their environments more.

By giving people clear choices and varied storylines I can involve people in the artwork remotely over the internet. By avoiding the use of over saturated social media platforms to stage my digital artwork I can try to hold people's attention for longer as they cannot scroll past it.

Having said all this, a future version of this project could move more towards these social media platforms. As the the biggest perk of a private and separate website is also its biggest downfall; in that there is very little traffic unless you at least advertise your work through social media. Even then, the likely hood of people clicking a link taking them away from the addictive grasp of doom scrolling is very low. Therefore, by putting the work in front of them where they can still interact with it may be a better way to engage a wider audience.
